I don’t remember how I came across Léo et Violette. Probably, I was wondering on Kickstarter’s website in the search of some cool new ideas. After working at Ulule, crowdfunding sites caught my attention. It’s a pretty incredible thing: anybody that has an idea can have a shot. If the idea – or the product – is good you’ll have customers even before your project is out!
I love the concept, I love what they make…
Léo et Violette started with one bag in 2013 and they are now expanded to minimalist and timeless collections. The concept is simple. They only produce leather goods, the colours are classic and you can only find their products on their e-shop (and very soon in their only flagship store). In my opinion, they found the perfect method for a new brand to start without any third party help. Cutting out the middleman means having a direct dialogue with the customers, but also being able to offer great quality at a more reasonable price.
…and I also love them.
After following them from far away, I had the chance to meet them for an interview. During that afternoon I found out that they were just as lovely as their brand. They couldn’t be more different from one another. You could definitely see that Léo is the businessman and Violette is the creative spirit. It’s impossible to not be won over by her bubbly personality. With a lot of wittiness she told us the story of the brand and, mostly, of their romance! I am telling you – there is a lot of love in those bags.
In a couple of years, Léo et Violette multiplied their designs and are now preparing to open their first flagship store in Paris. Their products are luxurious in every sense: great quality and functionality together with a sleek design, create accessories that are both modern and timeless.
