As you may know by know (and if you don’t, you should follow our Instagram), we moved to London!
New city means new house and new house means a lot of fun stuff. We have been properly living in out flat for a couples of weeks already but between starting our new jobs and trying to figure out how to get our stuff (and the cat!) from France to the England filled up our days, leaving just a little time on the making of this apartment a home.
We were so stressed about the move that we almost got all we needed from Ikea without even questioning it. Almost! We got our bed from there and some lights but we decided to really think about what we wanted our new life to look like. Even if this means being forniture-less for a little longer. This is our first real place together and we want to make sure that it feels like a home and that it kind of represents us as much as possible.
Big ideas and a small budget
We have a very precise idea of what we want and a small budget. Which means that it will take a bit longer to put all the bits together but I am very confident that we will. Last weekend we had our first design crush: a G-plan table from the 1970s. It is the simplest table you could imagine, yet perfect for us. We found this pearl at a flea market in Peckham that we almost didn’t go to. It’s the first piece that make the flat look like our home.
I’m sure we are going to have lot of fun chasing the perfect furniture!
Any tips on where to find the perfect rough in London?
